PPS provides housing only. We do not provide assisted living, treatment, clinical care, personal care, supervision, or case management.
INDEPENDENT LIVING
A Housing Option for Adults
Seeking Stability
PPS serves adults who need a dependable housing opportunity but may face barriers to traditional rental housing. Residents may have different backgrounds, income sources, and housing histories, but all PPS residents must be able to live independently and accept responsibility for living in a shared residential environment.

Veterans
PPS may serve veterans who can live independently and have reliable income through employment, VA benefits, retirement income, disability income, or another sustainable source.
Seniors
PPS may serve seniors who are able to manage their own personal care, medications, transportation, appointments, finances, and daily routines without PPS supervision.
Working Adults
PPS may serve working adults seeking a clean, stable shared housing opportunity with defined expectations and predictable housing responsibilities.
Adults Receiving SSI/SSDI
PPS may serve adults receiving SSI or SSDI who can live independently, meet the financial requirements of the available housing arrangement, and follow shared-house expectations.
Adults on Fixed Income
PPS may serve adults with reliable fixed income, including VA benefits, retirement income, pension income, or other verified recurring income.
Low-Income Adults
PPS may serve low-income adults who have a sustainable plan for meeting their housing charges and other personal financial responsibilities.
Experiencing Housing Instability
PPS may serve adults who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, temporarily displaced, or otherwise experiencing housing instability, provided they can live independently and meet PPS housing requirements.
Reestablishing Stability
PPS may serve adults rebuilding housing stability after a major life transition, housing loss, financial setback, discharge, relocation, or other period of disruption.
Community Referrals
PPS may receive referrals from hospitals, nonprofits, veteran organizations, government agencies, social workers, and other authorized community partners. A referral does not guarantee housing.
Independent Living Is the Foundation
of the PPS Model
Residents may have different incomes, ages, disabilities, housing histories, or referral sources. Those differences do not change the central requirement that every resident must be able to live independently.

- Arrange outside services independently when needed
Outside Services May Continue
Independently
Some PPS residents may work with doctors, counselors, case managers, veteran organizations, home-health providers, transportation services, benefits agencies, or other community resources. Residents may continue using those outside services as long as the services remain separate from the PPS housing arrangement.

Adults with Disabilities May Be
Eligible for PPS Housing
A disability does not automatically make someone inappropriate for independent shared housing. PPS may serve adults with disabilities when they can manage their daily living needs independently, meet the requirements of the available housing arrangement, and follow the Resident Housing Agreement.
Residents may have physical, sensory, intellectual, developmental, or mental-health-related disabilities
Residents may use lawful outside services

PPS does not provide personal care, supervision, medication management, or clinical monitoring
Housing for Adults Ready to Return to Independent Living
PPS may receive inquiries for adults leaving hospitals, rehabilitation settings, shelters, community programs, or other temporary environments. PPS housing may be considered when the person is ready to live independently and no longer requires PPS to provide supervision, personal care, medical monitoring, treatment, or case management.
Role Clarification:
The referring organization remains responsible for its own discharge, clinical, treatment, service, and safety decisions. PPS reviews the housing request only.
PPS Housing Is Shared
Residential Living
Residents live with other approved adults and share designated spaces within the home. Successful shared living requires respect, communication, cleanliness, personal boundaries, and responsibility.
Respect
Treat other residents, guests, neighbors, and PPS representatives appropriately.
Cleanliness
Maintain personal spaces and help protect the cleanliness of shared areas.
Privacy
Respect bedrooms, belongings, personal information, and reasonable boundaries.
Communication
Address housing concerns through the approved communication process.
Responsibility
Meet payment, conduct, occupancy, property-care, and documentation obligations.
When Another Housing Model May
Better Match the Person's Needs
PPS housing is designed for independent adults. A different housing model may be more appropriate when a person requires ongoing assistance or oversight that PPS does not provide.

- Does not yet have a sustainable housing-payment plan
- Is unable to follow shared-residential expectations
- Needs a secured or specialized care environment
Referral partners and prospective residents should contact PPS when they are uncertain. PPS can explain the housing model without making clinical or service determinations.

Does PPS serve veterans?
Yes. PPS may serve veterans who can live independently and meet the requirements of the available housing arrangement.
Does PPS serve seniors?
Yes. PPS may serve seniors who can manage their own personal care, medications, transportation, finances, and daily routines independently.
Can someone receiving SSI or SSDI live with PPS?
Receiving SSI or SSDI does not automatically qualify or disqualify someone. The person must be able to live independently and meet the financial and housing requirements of the available home.
Does PPS serve adults with disabilities?
Yes. Adults with disabilities may be appropriate for PPS housing when they can live independently, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and meet the housing requirements.
Can outside case management or healthcare continue?
Yes. Outside services may continue independently. PPS does not manage, supervise, or become responsible for those services.
Can hospitals refer someone to PPS?
Yes. Hospitals and other authorized organizations may submit housing referrals. PPS does not assume clinical, discharge-planning, or case-management responsibilities.
Does a referral guarantee housing?
No. Housing depends on current availability, the available shared-home arrangement, required information, financial readiness, and completion of the housing process.
Is PPS assisted living?
No. PPS provides housing only and does not provide assisted living, personal care, medication management, supervision, or clinical services.
Does PPS charge a security deposit?
No. PPS does not charge a security deposit. A non-refundable move-in fee may apply and will be disclosed before move-in.
Are all PPS homes accessible?
No. Accessibility features vary by property and must be verified before placement.
